MARK TRAVIS RIVERA is an award-winning professional storyteller and TEDx Speaker who embraces the power of stories to create a more inclusive world as the CEO + Founder of The Professional Storyteller, LLC. A William Paterson University of New Jersey graduate, Rivera earned a bachelor’s in women’s & gender studies with a minor in public relations. Rivera is the youngest person to have founded an integrated dance company in the United States, marked dance project, a contemporary company for dancers with and without disabilities, established in March 2009.
Rivera’s writing has also been published in The Bergen Record, Herald News, The Star-Ledger, Fox News Latino, and The Huffington Post. His debut collection, Drafts: An Imperfect Collection of Writing, was published in August 2017. He was also a contributing writer for Crisis & Care, an anthology edited by Adrian Shanker. Rivera resides in Atlanta, GA, and is a proud tio (uncle) to his five nieces and two nephews.
